Classes & Symposium (BWEA) to be held in the Duke University Dance Program at the Rubenstein Arts Center on Sunday, March 26th, 2023. 9-3 PM.
Symposium director and Duke faculty Andrea E. Woods Valdés gathers 5 expressive women creatives to explore embodied aesthetics from the place of spirit and sweat of Black women in motion. The day includes morning classes by Michelle Gibson (New Orleans), Michelle Grant Murray (Miami), and L’Antoinette Stines (Jamaica) each working in their unique dance aesthetic. Lunch will be provided and followed by a panel including Gibson, Grant Murray, Stines, Woods Valdés, and special guest dance-scholar Jasmine Johnson.

El taller se centrará en el sistema original de movimiento de Woods y selecciones del repertorio de SOULOWORKS. La semana culminará en una clase abierta y una exhibición la cuál amigos y familiares son invitados. Las clases estarán acompañadas de música en vivo.
